Trying New Things

My story of exploring, Go Try Something New

Post # 3 – Shots IN the Dark

Being a risk taker is extremely difficult. It’s so easy to stay where you’re comfortable, because comfort feels safe. But the problem is, comfort isn’t progress. A lot of the best things in life happen when you decide to step into something you don’t fully understand yet.

The photo I added to this post is from a camping trip where I basically had to trust my friends with my life. They refused to tell me where we were going. No directions, no hints, nothing. I was literally just driving up the side of into the unknown, hoping it wasn’t some sketchy drop-off or random mountain lion hideout. All I could do was follow them and trust the process.

But here’s the crazy part — trusting them led me to one of the prettiest spots I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Honestly one of those views where you just sit there like, Wow… I would’ve missed this if I played it safe. That moment made me realize how much insane stuff you can experience when you stop overthinking and just go for it.

The unknown is scary, but it’s also where the best memories happen. If I would’ve refused to go or complained the whole way, I would’ve never had that moment, that view, or that feeling. Now it’s something I can share with others and hopefully inspire them to take a leap every now and then.

Trust in others.
